


Vaidyaratnam Mentor's Day 2025

The Vaidyaratnam Group recently observed Mentor’s Day in Thrissur, paying homage to the legendary Padma Bhushan Ashtavaidyan E.T. Narayanan Mooss, a towering figure in the world of Ayurveda. The ceremony was inaugurated by former Goa Governor and esteemed author P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, who lauded Mooss’s global contribution to Ayurveda and underscored the relevance of India’s nature-centric philosophy in today’s world.
The event was presided over by Managing Director Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss, who emphasized that the Aathmamithra Awards stand as a testament to Narayanan Mooss’s deep reverence for Ayurveda, literature, and the Vedic tradition. Delivering the keynote address, Padma Shri Peruvanam Kuttan Marar highlighted how Vaidyaratnam’s commitment to heritage and Malayalam cultural values is reflected in its initiatives. The commemorative address by Paipra Radhakrishnan, former secretary of Kerala Sahitya Academy, explored the holistic legacy of Narayanan Mooss, whose vision seamlessly integrated medicine with art, literature, and culture. Renowned critic and scholar Dr. N.P. Vijayakrishnan, introducing the awardees, drew insightful parallels between Ayurvedic principles and the cultural consciousness of Malayali readers. This year’s Aathmamithra Awards were presented to Vedic scholar Oravankara Damodaran Namboothiri for his outstanding contribution to the Vedas, and acclaimed Malayalam writer M. Mukundan for his literary excellence. As part of Vaidyaratnam’s CSR initiative Grihastham, a newly constructed house was formally handed over by T.S. Pattabhiraman, Chairman and Managing Director of Kalyan Silks. The event also featured a welcome address by Executive Director Ashtavaidyan Dr. E.T. Yadu Narayanan Mooss, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Executive Director Ashtavaidyan Dr. E.T. Krishnan Mooss, marking a dignified closure to a memorable occasion that celebrated tradition, excellence, and enduring legacy.
