Ayurvedic view:

This formulation is predominant of thiktha katu madhura kashaya rasa, guru snigdha guna and possess samasithoshna virya. Nirgundi, Kumari, sathavari, Ashoka, Pippali, karanja, kulatha and rasona are gulmaghna. Misreya, ashoka, pippali and sathapushpa are sulahara. Pippali, sathapushpa, bharangi and tila are deepana. Kumari, sathavari and tila are balya. Asoka is having kashaya tikta rasa which helps to cure leucorrhoea. Lasuna is mentioned as pathya in vata vyadhi. It is considered as best for treating vata vikara and all types of avarana. Srothosodhana is the major action of lashuna, may help in clearance of artava vaha srotas. Ayurvedic literature, especially satapushpasatavari kalpa adhyaya of kashyapa samhitha, narrated satapushpa as an effective single drug for curing many gynaecological disorders. It is vataprashamani, which is the prime factor involved in the development of all yoni rogas in female. It shows agneyatwa , which is essential in artavajanana. Rithupravartini being the major function of satapushpa, may help in ovulation. Yonisukra visodhina (clarifies female reproductive organs and sperms/sperm fluids)  and  putrada (giver of progeny) are its specific properties, explained in relation with reproductive system. Acharya Susrutha metioned the use of kulatha in nasthartava. Kulatha pacifies vata and kapha but aggravates pitha. Tila has specific action in artavavaha srotas and garbhasaya. It is snigdha ushna, artava janaka, rasayana and dantya. It helps in artava formation by Rasa poshana. Conversion of rasa to rakta helps in artava formation. Tila has sookshma guna which helps in reaching deeper dhatus, upto sukra level.Tila also supports asthi dhatu and its upadhatu- danta. This formulation contains ingredients of kanasathahwadi kashaya along with addition of nirgundi, kumari, sathavari, madhuka, mishreya and ashoka. Kanasathahwadi kashaya is srotoshodhana, artavajanaka Due to the predominance of thiktha rasa ,  and  this formulation can be given in leucorrhoea condition with suitable adjuvants.
