• More people opting for ayurveda in State

    THRISSUR: The formalities for the grant of Rs 5 crore from AYUSH to elevate the Ashtavaidyan Thaikkattu Mooss Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala at Ollur near here, to the status of ‘Centre of Excellence’ is in the final stage, said managing partner E T Neelakandan Mooss.


    Neelakandan Mooss told reporters that the grant would be for a period of five years for conducting treatment and research in rheumatoid arthritis, gauty arthritis, oyster arthritis and other related ailments.


    The organisation would provide free treatment for all children upto the age of 12 suffering from mental disorders including delayed mildstone from April this year.


    He said people belonging to BPL in Ollur, Cherpu, Thalore, Amballur, Avinissery, Vallanchira, Anakkallu villages around the Oushadhasala would be offered free ayurvedic treatment. As part of popularising health education among children, classes would be conducted in 50 schools in the district besides providing educational facility at its training centre for 15 girls below poverty line.


    Over 100 free medical camps in rural Kerala and health awareness programmes with the support of local administration are the other programmes proposed.
